Alamitos Heights is one of the first established communities in Long Beach, California. This neighborhood offers a quiet ambiance, but is close to schools, stores, restaurants, recreation, beaches, and entertainment.

Alamitos Heights is comprised of homes with a variety of designs in traditional Ranch, Tudor, Modern, and two story colonials. Residents love the wide streets that are lined with mature trees. This neighborhood is bounded by Bellflower Boulevard, Colorado Street, Park Avenue, and the Pacific Coast Highway. To the south you will find Alamitos Bay and to the west is Recreation Park.

The Long Beach Unified School District provides public education with facilities such as Wilson High School as well as highly ranked Lowell Elementary School and Rogers Middle School. If you’re looking for private schooling there is a long list including Cambodian Christian School, Parkridge Private School, St. Anthony High School, Oakwood Academy, and Los Altos Brethren School. This is the home of California State University, Long Beach as well as Long Beach City College, DeVry University, and Pacific Coast University School of Law.

The Recreation Park Golf Course offers an 18-hole, par 72 course that is enhanced with Kikuyu fairways and challenging bunkers. Colorado Lagoon Beach features playgrounds, picnic tables, and sandy beaches as well as activities for model-boats.

There are several shopping centers in this region like the Marketplace Shopping Center which is an outdoor plaza featuring duck ponds and fountains. This city has many cultural activities and venues to offer.
